Exterior Window Detailing

Salt air, sprinkler spray and afternoon storms all land on the outside of your glass. This is the service that takes it back off.

Exterior window detailing is a full hand wash of the outside glass followed by hand-detailing of the edges, frames and sills. Most South Florida homes take one to three hours depending on window count and stories.

What's Included

Every Exterior Windows job includes

  • Every reachable exterior pane washed by hand
  • Squeegeed and then hand-detailed along the edges
  • Frames wiped down

  • Spot check in daylight before we leave
  • Cobwebs cleared from around the openings

What It Fixes

The problems this solves

  • Salt film from coastal air

Homes near the Intracoastal and the beach pick up a fine salt haze that dries onto glass. A rinse does not lift it. Washing and detailing does.

  • Sprinkler spotting

Irrigation water carries minerals. When it dries on glass it leaves white spots that get harder to remove the longer they sit.

  • Storm grit and pollen

Summer storms drive dust and pollen onto the glass and then bake it on. Regular exterior cleaning stops it building into a layer.

The Solpath Standard

More Than a Wash. A Complete Detail.

What the job looks like

We start by clearing debris and cobwebs from around the opening so nothing gets pushed back onto clean glass. Then each pane is washed, squeegeed, and the edges are detailed by hand.

Ground-floor and second-floor windows are handled from ladders or water-fed poles depending on access. We will tell you before we start if anything on your home cannot be reached safely.

How often it is worth doing

For most South Florida homes, quarterly is a practical baseline for exterior glass. Homes on the water, next to heavy landscaping, or with sprinklers hitting the windows usually look better on a monthly schedule.

Questions

About this service

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
For exterior-only cleanings, no - as long as we can reach your windows with gates unlocked and pets secured, we can work while you are out. If your service includes interior windows, someone over 18 needs to be home to let us in.
How often should windows be cleaned in South Florida?
For most South Florida homes, quarterly cleaning is a practical baseline. Homes near salt water, homes with sprinklers hitting the glass, heavy landscaping, or nearby construction usually look better on a monthly schedule. Twice a year still makes a visible difference on a home set back from the coast with no irrigation on the windows.
Do you clean inside and outside?
Yes. Exterior and interior are separate services and you can book either or both. Exterior-only work can be done while you are out. If interior windows are included, someone over 18 needs to be home to let us in.
Do you remove hard water stains?
Yes. Hard water stains are mineral deposits left by sprinkler and irrigation water, and they do not come off with a normal window wash. We treat them as a separate restorative service. Early mineral deposits are often removable. If minerals have already etched the glass, complete restoration may not be possible. We will tell you what we see before starting restoration work.
Do you clean tracks, screens and storm shutters?
Yes. Screens, tracks, sills and storm shutters are all part of what we do. Tell us everything you would like cleaned when you request a quote and we will include it in the price.
