Boat Cleaning

Salt does not wait for the weekend. Neither should the wash.

Boat cleaning covers a salt rinse and wash of the topsides and deck, with the isinglass and glass cleaned by hand. Salt left on a boat between outings is what dulls gelcoat and clouds clear vinyl, so frequency matters more than intensity.

What's Included

Every Boats job includes

  • Salt rinse and hand wash of topsides and hull above the waterline
  • Deck, gunwales and non-skid
  • Isinglass and clear vinyl cleaned by hand
  • Windshield and cabin glass
  • Stainless rinsed and wiped down
  • In the slip or on the trailer

What It Fixes

The problems this solves

  • Salt left to dry

Salt is what dulls gelcoat and pits stainless. A wash after use is worth more than a heavy clean twice a year.

  • Clouded isinglass

Clear vinyl scratches easily and hazes with the wrong product. It is cleaned by hand with something made for it, or it is ruined.

  • Waterline and dock grime

A boat sitting in a slip picks up a line and a film that a hose does not shift.

The Solpath Standard

More Than a Wash. A Complete Detail.

What is in scope

Above the waterline. Topsides, hull sides, deck, non-skid, gunwades and the clear vinyl and glass. We wash and rinse rather than compound or wax, and we do not do bottom work, running gear or interiors.

Boats are done in the slip where the marina permits washing, or on the trailer at your property. Marina rules on runoff vary, and where washing is not allowed in the water, it has to happen on the hard.

Isinglass is the part people get wrong

Clear vinyl is soft. Ordinary glass cleaner, ammonia and a dirty cloth are the three fastest ways to permanently haze a set of curtains that cost more than the rest of the wash.

It is cleaned wet, by hand, with a product made for vinyl, and dried with a clean towel. Where a panel is already crazed, cleaning will not bring it back and we will tell you that instead of charging you to find out.

How often

After every saltwater outing is ideal and rarely realistic. For a boat used most weekends, a wash every two weeks keeps salt from ever getting a hold. A boat sitting unused in a slip still needs a regular wash, because dock film and salt spray arrive whether you go out or not.

Questions

About this service

What areas do you serve?
Solpath serves Broward County and Miami-Dade County, including Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Davie, Dania Beach, Pembroke Pines, Miramar and Miami. If you are just outside those cities, call and ask - we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
How much does window cleaning cost?
Price depends on how many windows you have, how many stories, and whether screens, tracks or hard water removal are included. We quote every home individually and tell you the price before any work starts. Quotes are free and there is no obligation.
How long does a window cleaning take?
Most homes take one to three hours depending on the number of windows, the number of stories, and how much detail work the screens and tracks need. We give you a time estimate with your quote so you can plan your day.
How often should windows be cleaned in South Florida?
For most South Florida homes, quarterly cleaning is a practical baseline. Homes near salt water, homes with sprinklers hitting the glass, heavy landscaping, or nearby construction usually look better on a monthly schedule. Twice a year still makes a visible difference on a home set back from the coast with no irrigation on the windows.
Do you clean inside and outside?
Yes. Exterior and interior are separate services and you can book either or both. Exterior-only work can be done while you are out. If interior windows are included, someone over 18 needs to be home to let us in.
